Safety
Your safety is a very important subject.
- We strongly recommand to subscribe a travel insurance for any travel (see our chapter about Travel Insurances). Always keep the insurance contract and phone number with you in case.
- always keep in mind that you are far away from home, and the next hospital might be very far, without any helicopter for transportation in many countries.
- we strongly advice you to do not take any risk of any kind : from road crossing to any adventurous experience.
- for any sporting activity, please check with the providor how he is handling risks and what is the emergency plan in case of bad accident.
- for walks in the wild : depending of the country, it might be better to take a guide because some plants or animals might be dangerous , and also because there is always a risk to get lost if you don't know the area.
- cities are another jungle : some of them are dangerous, specially at night and in some areas. Always check with your hotel where you can go safely.
- in some poor countries, don't be an obvious target : no jewels, no luxery items and never show in public a large amount of cash money.
- Of course, keep your passeport and money in the safety box in your hotel, or in an unaccessible pocket or belt if you have to carry it. A bag is an easy target.
- Always keep an eye on your luggages when travelling.
