FRENCH POLYNESIA

Society Islands - MAUPITI

Maupiti is a small coral atoll with a volcanic island in its midstand and the westernmost volcanic high island in the archipelago, 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of Bora Bora. The central island of Maupiti has a high peak of 380 metres (1,250 feet). There are ancient Polynesian archaeological artifacts dating from at least AD 850 in Maupiti.
Maupiti refused the construction of hotels on the island and you will find only B&B, more or less confortable (update 2022).
